Ústí to Welcome Nine Nations and Top Athletic Performances

Tomorrow, the stadium in Ústí nad Orlicí will come alive with the seventh edition of the Rieter Athletics Meeting. The program promises top-tier performances, featuring athletes from nine countries – in addition to the Czech national team, competitors from Jamaica, Algeria, Kenya, Burundi, Poland, Hungary, Nigeria, Ukraine, and Slovakia will also take part.

Athletes to Watch

Jakub Dudycha (Czech Republic) – The Czech national record holder in the 800 m will spice up the meeting with a start in the less common 600 m race, where he aims to break the best-ever Czech performance in this event.

Rohan Watson (Jamaica) – The 2023 World Championships bronze medalist and Jamaican 100 m champion, with a personal best of 9.91 seconds, promises a world-class race.

Candice McLeod (Jamaica) – An Olympic finalist in the 400 m and a member of Jamaica’s 4×400 m relay team, with which she won bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and silver at the 2022 and 2023 World Championships.

Viktoria Forster (Slovakia) – The Slovak national record holder in the 100 m hurdles will face off against the Czech elite, including U23 European Championships bronze medalist Tereza Čorejová.

Helena Jiranová (Czech Republic) – The newly crowned national champion in the 100 m hurdles, currently in the form of her life.

Daniela Volná (Czech Republic) – Czech long jump champion, whose performance of 649 cm this year is the best jump by a Czech athlete since 2018.

János Huszák (Hungary) – A discus thrower with a personal best of over 65 meters, ranked among the broader world elite.

Pavla Kvasničková (Czech Republic) – A sprinter from Pardubice who recently took home two silver medals from the national championships.

Filip Toul (Czech Republic) – Last year’s European champion in the 1500 m will test his speed at the end of the season in an unconventional 600 m race.

Jiří Vacek and Dominik Víťazka (Czech Republic) – A hurdling duo who share their home stadium in Ústí nad Orlicí and are among the top athletes in their age categories.
