Athletes from more than 20 countries are coming to Ústí nad Orlicí

On Wednesday, 19 August, Ústí nad Orlicí will host the Rieter Athletics Meeting 2026. This year’s edition will feature the strongest field in the history of the meeting. Athletes from more than 20 countries around the world will compete at the stadium, and judging by their entry performances, numerous meeting records could be broken throughout the afternoon.

One of the highlights of the programme will be the women’s 100 metres, where the quality of the field raises the prospect of a sub-11-second performance. The men’s long jump also promises an outstanding competition, featuring athletes with personal bests beyond the magical eight-metre mark.

The meeting will also welcome a number of medallists from this year’s Czech Championships, as well as athletes who competed at this year’s European Championships. Among the most exciting names on the start list is newly crowned World Junior pole vault champion Nicole Krutilová.

The stadium gates will open to spectators at 3:00 p.m., with the competition programme getting underway at 4:00 p.m. with the men’s 110 metres hurdles. One of the legends of Czech athletics, Petr Svoboda, will be among the first athletes in action.

This year’s edition will also bring several new features for spectators. The entire meeting will be available to watch via an online livestream (link below), while a large LED screen will be installed at the stadium for the first time, giving spectators an even better overview of the action, results and progress of each event.

And the afternoon will not end with the sporting programme. At the conclusion of the meeting, spectators will have the chance to take part in a prize draw featuring a range of valuable prizes.
